Teresa Smalls

Trainer & Clinic Coordinator

Teresa has a huge passion for human movement, and that is what brought her to Well Balanced. Her journey started growing up in Alaska where she played soccer and other various sports. She stayed active after her athletic career ended and started pursuing training, certifications, and eventually a degree in human movement. Along the way Teresa also picked up office experience and skills that she brings to the Well Balanced management team.

Education and Training

Teresa started working as a Personal Trainer in 2012 and began coaching CrossFit in 2016. She attended Northwest Christian University where she worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Men’s Soccer Team while completing her B.S. in Exercise Science. She has been in the Army National Guard for 5 years, where she has had the opportunity to use her training skills to coach her peers and superiors to meet the physical demands of the military. She is currently serving here in Oregon as a Lieutenant.

Teresa has plans to pursue higher education and more certifications in the near future.


As Teresa has worked in the human movement field, she has devoted expanding her knowledge base and experience to help people move their bodies correctly without limitations, and get stronger. Her passion for this comes from wanting to know why the body isn’t working properly and figure out how to fix it. Teresa ultimately wants to help and motivate people to be able to do what they love doing.

Outside of work

Teresa enjoys spending time with friends and family, and being actively involved with her church. She has a passion for cooking, Olympic lifting, running, snowboarding, kayaking, and exploring places in the PNW any chance she gets.
